firefox starts unwanted and goes automaticly to website i don't want
when i'm working on the pc, even when i haven't opened firefox yet, it opens automaticaly and goes to a website i didn't ask for. mostly websites of games. The name gameforge caught my eye somewhere.
even now, while typing this question a new session of firefox (in another window, not in another tab) launched itself and went to http://fr.rappelz.gpotato.eu/intro6/?276760000, but it's not always this site.
Chosen solution
hi,
i've got avg antivirus and iobit malware fighter and iobit advanced systemcare 6 running on my pc.
now i installed hitman pro and TDSSKiller but found nothing.
But I think this might done the trick. When i ran iobit uninstaller and checked for recently installed programs I found: Lollipop. I searched for it on internet and it's a program that generates ads: http://www.lollipop-network.com/.
Then i uninstalled it. Pretty simple if you know where to look. I don't even know how it got installed in the first place.
Anyway, problem solved.
Thanks

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
hello, please run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner, microsoft safety scanner & kaspersky security scan.
you also might want to check manually in the task scheduler if there are suspicious activities going on in the intervals where you're seeing this unwanted pages launch automatically.
There is an adware installed on your version of Firefox. Please try running one of the scanners listed above.
If the scanners do not detect anything, please report back as soon as possible.
To protect personal information, please avoid internet usage until the issue is resolved.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
If the unwanted pages opens at the same time every day, it could be similar or related to the DSite software discussed in other threads.

This Lollipop program was most likely installed with another program.
