How to disable hardware acceleration for only one domain?
Firefox is a great product and I haven't had any problems so far that I couldn't solve....but:
Since Microsoft updated the UI of Hotmail, Firefox will now crash every time I send an email from that site. This can be "resolved" by turning hardware acceleration off, but I don't want to have to endure the disadvantages of that just because of one site...My graphics driver is up to date.
So my question: Is it possible to create a workaround for this problem? I doubt that hardware acceleration can be turned off for just one site, but maybe there is a way that lets me start a new instance of Firefox without hardware acceleration or something like that so I don't have to go to options, turn it off, restart Firefox, check/send emails, go to options again, and restart again...any ideas?

Hello Bloodthorn, sorry but hardware acceleration can NOT be turned off for just one site (and I'd like that too if possible), try Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition and disable hardware acceleration in portable version.
thank you

Thank You too! :) I'm using the portable version now without hardware acceleration for hotmail only and thus can leave the acceleration on in my regular firefox; good solution!

Note that you can also run multiple Firefox instances with their own profile folder.
See:

You can use the -no-remote command line switch to open another Firefox instance with its own profile and run multiple Firefox instances simultaneously.
