I just updated, and got hotspot shield protection, Did it come from you?
I just got Firefox 20.0.1 downloaded to me. I then got a notice to enable Hotshot Shield Extension 1.0. Now I cannot get rid of that extension. Did it come with 20.0.1?

- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

No, but usually if you are prompted to install a addon, its coming from another program, not from firefox, it also seems like that addon isnt uninstallable from firefox, you can remove it from the control panel.
It does not appear in the control panel listing of programs and features.
