I want to get rid of start.sweetpacks.com and the BING search page. If I reset Firefox will I lose all my bookmarks history?
When I open a new page for a Google search, I get start.sweepacks in the left window and the Bing page with the search box. I do not want to go there, want to get rid of Bing altogether. I find it annoying and invasive.
If I do a Reset Firefox, will I lose all of my browsing history and my folders with all of my saved websites and go back to the beginning?
My other option is to NOT use Firefox, but go back to Chrome. It does not happen there.
When I click below, it says Firefox prevented from asking you to install software on your computer.
This is not an easy task. Now I am even more confused. I am only modestly computer savvy.

Also use the search reset tool and delete a possible user.js file.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
