firefox nightly will NOT save cookies. I want ALL cookies saved!

have win8 and had to reinstall the os and all aps, including nightly. going to facebook game "glory of Rome", for some reason, NO cookies are saved. This is terrible! I have read many articles in support about (stupid, I hate the very idea of privacy) privacy settings, to ne avail.

Chosen solution

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode (Never Remember History).

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

problem went away on next reboot. I think it was an equipment issue - so hot the whole system was misbehaving.
