I do not know what all started everything. I have been using Mozilla Firefox as my #1, favorite and of course my preferred browser over Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera...It is just awesome. Also, I had been using DAP 10 Premium downloader, SpeedBit downloader and converter. Everything to go well for over 1 year. Then all of a sudden, sometime about 2 months ago, I opened my browser, tried to run it so that I may go online. Lo and behold I received a message saying: C:\Program Files\Common Files\SpeedBit\SBUpdate\sbfi32.dll is missing. Try re-installing the program again to correct the problem. Well I did--- probably at least 20 times, but no help, It did not work. Now, I can't even open most of my programs/software because the same message keeps popping up. I personally think that something should be done to those who wrote the program--if they intended something malicious [in] the software--I REALLY NEED HELP!!!

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

You can also check if it works in windows safe mode.

or try to fix shortcuts

Thank You. However, I do Essentials; Malwarebytes; Av. ira Premium; Avg...and the VIRUS/MALWARE (EVIL SOFTWARE--mal short for mala) is a lot smarter than that. I tried the suggested, but it did very little to solve the problem. I am missing the sbfi.dll file/command...I even tried using my recently purchased software RECOVERYER , to recover deleted or missing files but it did not even work even after recovering a somewhat (altered) file, not the exact one....sbfi.dll. It changed and then the new missing file is sbei.dll . Thank You all.

I will try to consult with PC geek since I am also a subscribed member of the online troubleshooting and repair site.

Have you tried windows safe mode, online support is usually a scam and can get your computer into more trouble, a good alternative is continuing here.

Hello,

Please download and run the following file http://download.speedbit.com/sbw.exe and please let us know if the problem with your browser is solved. (If not, kindly click on the Windows "Start" and type services.msc in the Search field, find "Speedbit Update service" in the opened window and disable it.)

Kind regards, Speedbit Team
