I tried to fix the issue using the last upgrade tips (doesnt work after 21) like : Go in about:config and change the plugins.load_appdir_plugins -> true I tried to repair the citrix internet receiver I copy the plugins in the "new" folder in browser\plugins

I'm still stuck with the same issue... Could anybody help me ?

Thanks in advance

Chosen solution

My fix is to reinstall firefox with the 20.0.1 version. When firefox is rolling out its auto updates and "fast updates cycle" to compete with chrome, I always worry about one day ff may break something and hit into a wall. Now the whole office was complaining unable to access and come to a halt. IE is a temporary fix, it has its other problem though, but I dont want to push users to use IE for any reason. FF 20 seems to be the best solution yet, and I also turn off auto-updates in Tools-options. But when FF 20 starts, it keeps telling you its old, out-dated, annoying. And worst of all, if you click on Help-about, it WILL download v22 anyway. And for the next start, it will ask you to update. Totally ruin the idea of DO NOT CHECK FOR UPDATES. I guess I'll stay in this not-so-friendly state until someone find a better solution. PS I was happy to see the "Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.0" solution, but if its PAINFULLY slow, I stay away from it as the computers in my office is rather dated.

Do you see the Citrix plugin in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins?

more options

That means that Firefox finds it.
If this plugin shows as enabled then it should be working.

You can try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.

See Re-initializing the plugins database:

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Deleting pluginreg.dat and addons.sqlite did not help.

I uninstalled the “Citrix Online Plug-in for Windows 12.1” and installed “Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.0”. The Citrix plugin now works (regardless of plugins.load_appdir_plugins being set to true or false - which was the fix for this problem in Firefox 21).

The new Citrix plugin handles window resizing better than the old one, so that’s an added bonus.

My O.S. is Windows7.

I have the same problem.

With Firefox 21 it doesn't work but if => about:config => plugins.load_appdir_plugins being set to true => it's ok

With Firefox 22 it doesn't work => plugins.load_appdir_plugins being set to true it doesn't work => Re-initializing the plugins database it doesn't work

Install the latest version of the "Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.0" plugin but it works in the case of a company with many affected (personal or corporate) computers is not a solution.

Thank of fix this problem.

Do not do the updates can not be a solution.

We need a real answer from the Firefox team.

I was able to fix or at least workaround this by disabling the Citrix ICA Client 12.X plugin in Firefox (or uninstall if you have the patience). After that, you may be prompted to reinstall the Windows ICA client which seems to be working fine for me now. However, since I don't control the clients that connect to my Citrix Environment, this is only useable if someone really has to have FF 22. FF20 is as high as I want to support from an IT perspective as it works without any reconfigurations. Hope this helps for those that don't want to run receiver.

Nothing worked for me except to downgrade to Firefox 17 as a test. 20 wouldn't work. Citrix Receiver 4.0 isn't a recommended solution, although it might work, it will break other things, like the Citrix Access Gateway VPN client that is slightly older and other things. I just download and installed version 17 build, it will install right over top of the current 22 version. Then, disable auto updating of Firefox in the Options/Advanced settings Update tab. All is back to working fine again with the CitrixOnlineWebPlugin of old. 12.3.0.8 Citrix client web plugin launches fine now.

I still we need a REAL solution from the Firefox team.

I don't want implement a flawed solution.

I agree, downgrading isn't a fix. Actually, my previous post didn't work. I ended up going back to version 17.0. Then installed the 12.3.0.8 Citrix client, then it would actually launch the application on the screen. Silly. Works on IE fine of course.

I'm having the same problem, stuck on FF21. Ridiculous there are no answers yet. I don't want a workaround.

hey ? no body have a solution ?

For Firefox v.22, I found experimentally that I needed the following three things to be in place:

  1. Upgrade my Citrix online plug-in from 12.1.44 to 12.3.
  2. Make sure I'd implemented the fix that became necessary at FF v. 21, namely, go to about:config, set plugins.load_appdir_plugins to TRUE.
  3. Make sure that FF is set to "Use Citrix (default)" instead of "Use Citrix ICA client (in Firefox)" inside of Tools > Options > Applications > highlight "Citrix ICA client" content type.

Thanks man it's ok.

Sadly I tried the three suggested items and it still doesn't work for me.

Sadly I have resorted to IE for Citrix login

Come on Firefox Tech support and get this fixed please - or at least give some guidance!

Yes, the solution is go back to Version 17, first release. Not the TOR version that is rife with security issues. Then reinstall the ICA Web client. Works fine on two Win 7 computers.

This seemed to work for me for FF 24.2.0 ESR:

Updated to the 12.3 web plugin (XenAppWeb.msi) Had to set (in firefox): Tools -> Options -> Applications Find the Citrix ICA Client

Change it from: "use Citrix ICA Client (in Firefox)" to "Use Citrix (default)"

The problem, however, is that if you close Firefox, it reverts BACK to the "default" ("use Citrix ICA Client (in Firefox)") setting which doesn't work. So i have to constantly switch it back every time.
