Are you viewing the list using Ctrl+j ?

Could you compare the Library dialog? If you press Ctrl+Shift+h to display History, on the left side, there should be a category for Downloads. Is that also blank?

Not sure I clearly posed my problem. Say I downloaded a file via "file save as". I get download window while file is downloading but then it goes blank as soon as download complete. It's as tho the "clear list" button is automatically pushed. I can't blame my Norton security software because download window does not go blank on any of my other computers.

When the download window goes blank automatically, I have to hunt the downloaded file to use it while on my other computer's download window I can activate the file right from the download window.

Thanx for helping.

What if you try the Library dialog? Is the new download listed there?

If you have an enormously long download history list, Firefox sometimes runs into problems displaying it.

Conversely, if you have Firefox set not to remember history, then I think it will immediately forget all of your downloads... you could check that here:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy

If you have "Never remember history" or if you have "Use custom settings for history" and unchecked the item for download history, you might want to adjust that.

If your options are set to remember downloads, the database that stores the downloads might be corrupted. But please check the other things first.
