When searching on Ancestry.com after scrolling down a page and then go to back arrow it takes me to the top of the page instead of the point where I started.
When I am searching on Ancestry.com, after making a search and scroll down the list of people and then select one person it shows me that particular information and then using the return arrow it takes me to the top of the page from which I started me search. Instead of taking me back to the point at which I started the search. This problem started about a month or a little more ago. Since there are about 50 people per page it really slows down the process. I really like Firefox but I can't put up with this situation. When contacting Ancestry they tell me that when they do the same thing with your browser it takes them back to the starting point as it should. Is there a setting somewhere on your browser that will correct that problem? Or could this be a conflict with my computer, Firefox and Ancestry.com? I am running Windows 7 on a dual core desk top. As I said it worked just fine until a short while ago.

It's been about two weeks. It has a globe like symbol and this is the url http://dna.ancestry.com/settings/#/tests with a blank page. the tab has a dotted square before the url.

Firefox will reload a page and reposition at the top if the copy in the cache has expired. However, that shouldn't happen right away.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
- right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
Thank you very much. I will try that right away.
Also check that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
- do not clear Cache because Firefox will disable the disk cache in such a case
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
I can get on ancestry.com and move around to everything except dna. It just goes to a blank page. It works in chrome and IE but I want to use FF. Please help.
Hi gfbecker, is this a new problem in Firefox 23?
If the above general suggestions don't help, check the address bar on that page for a "shield" icon to the left of the URL. If you see one, check out this article for more information on the mixed content blocker: Mixed content blocking in Firefox

I removed cookies again and it's working. Thanks!
Hi gfbecker, you definitely shouldn't get a blank page. When I visit logged out, I get a login form, so I can't get to the specific page you linked. Perhaps there is a problem sharing your cookies across between the two different domains (from www => dna). You may need to clear cookies on the www side, too.
Thanks, my problem has been solved. Gordy
