When I open Firefox I get this popup dialog box. I added adblock plus, but it still keeps showing up occasionally. I have a .png screenshot of it, but can't figure out how to attach it to this question.

You have the external IP extension, which has been associated with this "crazzy.se" issue. You might have to make a manual change to how it checks addresses per this post:

I haven't tried that myself.

Edit: Or if this extension isn't important, just disable it until they solve the problem on the back end?

Sorry, in order to post the screen shot, you need to reply to your post. There is an upload form just below the textbox.

Sometimes the authentication dialog will indicate the source, but not always. I'm guessing the one you get is not specific.

The dialog might be generated by any of the following:

  • One or more of your home pages
  • Add-ons that need to connect to a website (e.g., to check mail, share bookmarks, etc.)
  • "Live" bookmarks
  • Malware that connects when you start Firefox

Thanks for your answers. I suspect it is Malware. I've attached the screenshot.

The question becomes, how do I kill it?

I was well into editing the url you gave me with my User and default profile. Then I realized that I really don't feel the extension is important, so I removed it.

Many thanks.
