Why do I loose my bookmarks every time I turn of my computer?

when i get off the internet or shut my computer off and i go back on by bookmark sites that i have saved are not there? Why? I have to reload them, and they will remain until I shutdown the computer.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
