I mistakenly deleted an email and my machine only holds them for 2 days. After 2 days they apparently go to a server or cyber space, I don't know which. How do I get it back?

Was the email on a major webmail service (such as Yahoo mail, Gmail, Hotmail) or on some other site? Each service probably works a bit differently.
