Status bar still missing

Posted

Firefox 15 is still missing the status bar. This is basic, basic functionality that any non-toy web browser should have. Cludges exist (the must-have-been-named-by-a-12-year-old "status-4-evar" extension) but they only do the job poorly (the status bar appears incorrectly named in the list of toolbars, for example). The status bar should be a built-in function of Firefox.

Additional System Details

Application

  • User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1

More Information

Firefox 15.0.1 (not that that's helpful; it goes up every couple of days and nothing else changes) on Windows.

I'm not aware of any plans to bring back a status bar. It was a victim of making the UI as minimal as possible, and an add-on, whatever its name, probably is the best solution.

If you want to submit feature suggestions, try using Help > Submit Feedback rather than these forums.
