The posted solution failed for "jumping bookmarks" on the "Show More Bookmarks" list (>> on far right side. http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/776495

My bookmarks are jumping around as I try to reorder them in the "Show Other Bookmarks" drop-down on the far right of the browser - labelled ">>". This solution (backing up the bookmarks and then importing the saved file) did not solve the problem. They keep jumping around as I try to move them. Does it work if you reorder the bookmarks in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder in the sidebar (Ctrl+B) or in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)?

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

If dragging doesn't work then try Cut & Paste instead.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I did that before I got back to your reply, but you are fast! It did work to make the order changes after hitting ctrl B and reordering the list in the Bookmarks Toolbar, yes. Then I had to save the backup of the bookmarks under Bookmarks - Show All Bookmarks - Import and Backup - then saved file and imported it back in. The new lineup showed.

Previously I was able to change the order in the drop down list on the right under the >> sign (far right). That is what is still not working. The bookmarks continue to jump around on that list. I can live with it, but it is a bug it seems.
