Firefox on my mac says Firefox 12.0 is up-to-date, but MacUpdate desktop is offering me version 14.01?

I'm running Firefox 12.0 on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.4. Firefox is up-to-date when I check the version, but when I run MacUpdate Desktop it is offering me version 14.01. I don't understand.

Thanks very much ffxsf, but this has happened before and when I installed from the website I lost all my passwords etc.

Many thanks amir988 problem solved. I haven't seen that in the installation instructions, they all seem aimed at a first install.
