I can't play YouTube videos nor open Flash-based pages on Firefox. I've already installed the Flash plugin a number of times.
Can't play YouTube videos and can't load Flash components, which work on other browsers.

The first resolution worked with "Turn off Web Download & Recording in RealPlayer". Thanks!
Turning off downloading and recording for RealPlayer didn't work for me. I am sick of firefox and all the compatibility problems they have "EVERY TIME" the come out with a new version. Now they want us to uninstall RealPlayer, then revert back to an older version of Flash. Please. Why can't these geniuses ad Firefox figure this out instead of having to rely on outsiders to find a fix for them. Plus it isn't worth all the trouble. I used to like firefox. Now they are too much trouble than they are worth. This is why Chrome took over their spot as the #1 used browser. Hello Chrome.......
Hi bzzzzz, this started on June 8th with the release of Flash 11.3. Mozilla and Adobe and Real are working on sorting it out. Until then you have a variety of workarounds for people who are affected by this problem.
If you don't want to roll back to Flash 10.3, there is a way to manually turn off the new protected mode of Flash 11.3. In this support article from Adobe it's under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox? Please note that this is for Windows Vista and Windows 7; there is no Flash protected mode in Windows XP.
Hi jscher2000,
First, thank you for taking the time to reply to my post. I respect that very much, especially when Firefox doesn't even have a place to email a complaint or problem. I truly and sincerely appreciate you help and I am come back and revisit this solution later, but right now I am in school full time on line and don't have the time to go through the processes. I will just wait to see If Firefox can figure it out without having to go through these things. It's not that I can't, I know I could go through each step with no problem. It is just a time issue and also a principle issue in a way. It seems that every time Firefox comes out with a different version there are issue. Maybe it has something to do with Vista too. I hate Vista. As a matter of fact I just bought the bigget, badest Mac Pro desktop there is and I can't wait the get it all set up and I bet I won't have many of the issues I have with Windows. Anyway, thank you very much again jscher2000. I hope to talk to you later down the road.
Hi bzzzzz, good luck in your studies and with your Mac. You can set up Firefox Sync to get your Windows bookmarks over to your Mac, or just copy them manually. Lots of help around here on that.
