When using Firefox 13, my internet connection slows down. When using 'speedtest' the download stays at 4,14Mbps. Ping is 92ms. When using another browser (IE or Google Chrome) I'm at 128,87 Mbps. Ping is 13ms. Is there a reason why this is happening. I've already contacted my provider to complain but after using another browser I saw that the only problem is Firefox.

maybe this is an issue with the latest flash update & adobe's introduction of the protected mode - try disabling the protected mode or downgrade to a prior flash version to see if this is making a difference...

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

You can also check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.

See "Firefox connection settings":
