How to open a selected text link from the keyboard
I'd like to be able to search for some text on a screen, and then open the link that it connects to. The catch is that I want to do so via the keyboard, i.e. without moving the mouse. It seems there should be a way to do this. I've tried every combination of <meta-key> + Return, and every combination of <meta-key> + Down Arrow I can think of, since that seems like a natural place to hide such a shortcut, but to no avail. Anyone know how to do this?

select link =shift+arrow then=>the key next to start and besides cnrtl!
I'm not sure which "arrow" key you mean. Assuming you mean the directional arrow keys, I tried all 4. On my keyboard, the control key is between the function key and the alt/option key. So I tried <Shift-function> and <Shift-alt> with each of those four direction arrow keys. None of those 8 combinations opened the selected link.
yea directional keys see after u select the needed text press the key in the image

Still couldn't get cybervibin's suggestions to work for me. (I wonder if he has some additional plug-ins installed that cause different behavior for him than me.) But cor-els's solution worked perfectly!
You're welcome.
cybervibin screenshot shows the key that opens the right-click context menu.
I do not know if that context menu key is present on a Mac keyboard and works the same way.
So, what might happen is that you get the context menu and choose to open the link in a new tab.
