I can't find "import" in 12?

Chosen solution

that firefox menu are hidden on each window just like the initial menu bar as well. the initial menu i know those are hidden so i was able to go into the show all bookmark window but i did not know that the menu within that window are also hidden. once you mention the hidden menu i simply move the mouse over the top and the menu is there to restore/backup menu is up there.

thanks for pointing out the hidden menu. for over a week i was trying to use that sync function to get the bookmark over instead of the json file method but the sync function failed misseribly because i simply cannot add another device into the account so the sync is not doing the job it suppose to do. at the screen where it as for 3 sets of 4 characters screen it does not matter how carefully i type those character into it. it refuse to accept the device into the account to sync. i had those two systems side-by-side so i tried it each time for a few hours for over a week just typing those three set of four characters verify and re-type over and over so many time and it does not accept them. if i fail to sync i think not too many people will be success at it.

See this article -> Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

  • Open Bookmarks Library using CTRL + SHIFT + B keys
  • OR click Firefox button and click on Bookmarks or Show All Bookmarks
  • click Import and Backup button -> go to Restore and click Choose File...

Check and tell if its working.

Thanks. It was just a click away the whole time! 3 thru 10 were located just outside of there, I believe. Thought I had searched the bookmarks tab pretty extensively but it is just good thing it wasn't a snake. Ha Ha.

You are welcome.

in firefox 12 with ubuntu the menu to backup/restore menu is no longer there so i could not restore the json file i have backup and store in a good location. if anyone know how to restore the json file back to firefox 12 please let me know.

thanks

Ubuntu 11.xx displays window menus in the control bar at the top of the screen with the switch to the Unity window manager.

Click on Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks then move your mouse to the left upper corner toward Firefox Web Browser.

You will get pop up menu (Organize, Views and Import and Backup).
