Hi,

I've been using the feature " clear history when FF closes". However it stops since yesterday(I haven't done anything...., only used for 2 webpages, which i use them all the time)

The issue is only for clear cookies option in the "clear history when FF closes" setting. I can put it on, it will delete all cookies when I close FF. However, the cookies option becomes un-ticked when I open FF again. Then I have to manually put it on again.

I've tried re-install, update, upgrade FF, but getting the same results. Could any one please help?

Hi draculap,

It sounds like Firefox might just be having trouble saving to your pref.js file. You should look at the article How to fix preferences that won't save. That article will show you how to fix the issue and you'll be back in business in no time.

Hopefully this helps!

Hi Matt,

I've opened user.js and got the lines below:

user_pref("network.cookie.cookieBehavior", 0);
user_pref("privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies", false);
user_pref("security.warn_viewing_mixed", false);
user_pref("security.warn_viewing_mixed.show_once", false);
user_pref("security.warn_submit_insecure", false);
user_pref("security.warn_submit_insecure.show_once", false);

I tried to set the 2nd line to True, but it didn't work. Then I tried removed the line, once I opened FF, that line comes back automatically. I've also tried remove user.js, or put and duplicate line before and after that line with the value True. It removes all my duplication.

Any other suggestion to kill that line?

You shouldn't have a user.js file unless you created the file yourself.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Hi Cor-el,

Thanks for you reply.

got no idea why I was getting the user.js file. however it disappeared today. never mind.

the problem is still here. I tried to restart to safe mode. I tried to disable all add-ons, I only have the default theme.

any other suggestion?
