How do I delete bookmarks when the "blue star" option doesn't work?

I'm trying to delete bookmarks and when I click on the blue star for the "edit this bookmark" window - the horizontal oval doesn't say "remove"inside nor does it delete the book mark. I'm using a brand new mac laptop.

Hi erica,

You can use command + shift + B to bring up the bookmarks menu. Then you can ctrl click on any bookmark listed to find the delete option. You can also go to Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

Hopefully this helps!

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
