Firefox just updated itself to 10.0.1 and it has changed this. I used to just type twitter.com or amazon.com and the page loads. When I do this now, absolutely nothing happens. Even if I type the full address: https://twitter.com nothing happens. There isn't even an error message. If I go to google search, and then click on the page, it goes to it with no problem.

What is a pain is that it still has my history of frequently visited pages, but I can't use it now.

I'm sure there must be a setting which changed on Firefox, because this still works perfectly well with Chrome, but I can't find the correct setting.

Do you have the AVG Safe Search add-on?? If so, disable this extension in the Firefox Add-ons Manager. Ref:

I just noticed something: if I type something in the address bar, and then manually click the "go to address" arrow, it works. So it just isn't responding to the enter key anymore. I guess that simplifies the problem.
