Removing cookies Suddenly about 50+ cookies showed up,such as "ru4.com" "254a.com" et al. Tried to remove them, but they won't go away. I tried "Clear all History", still won't remove them. I deleted the file "cookies.sqlite", still didn't go away.

I usually don't allow cookies at all, except when I need to to use a website, such as buying something. I run Windows XP.

I ran a scan with McAfee and came up with a few trojans, which I removed, but it wouldn't/couldn't remove the cookies.

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Will I lose all my settings and bookmarks if I do? Thankss for any help

Chosen solution

These are almost certainly opt-out cookies that will be part of your tracker watcher and tracker block extensions.
