italic textwhenever I click on the icon it shows its loading then a couple seconds later it just stops and nothing happens. this has happened before and usually restarting the computer fixes it but not this time. I tried going to the task manager then to processes but firefox is not on the list. and I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but firefox still wont open. does anybody have any other suggestions.

Chosen solution

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
