Thanks for the reply Vivek.Wilfred I tried Safe Mode and the Bookmarks Sidebar remains empty. I've also removed and reinstalled Firefox and the problem persists. I'm running the same version of Firefox on a Windows 7 machine at home and the bookmarks are present so it has to be a problem with the configuration on my office machine (Vista).

Please try this once you have the latest set synchronized to Xmarks: '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information''' > '''Open Containing Folder'''. Exit Firefox and in the opened folder, rename the '''places.sqlite''' file, start Firefox and '''Ctrl''' + '''B'''.

Amazing! This worked and bookmarks are now present in my Sidebar (not sure why). Thanks so much Vivek.Wilfred for your help!
