How do I remove or deactivate the automatic TAB feature?

Since recently loading FF 9.0.1 a tab is opened every time I open an internet window. I would like to deactivate that feature so that Tabs are only opened when I so choose.

You can check the startup setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my home page" "Show a blank page"
