I am running mac osx 10.5.8, but FireFox is giving me a message that it is not compatible with my version of osx and will not let me install. The web site says it is compatible with osx 10.5. Am I missing something?
I was able to download the current version of FireFox but when I tried to install, I got a message that FireFox is not compatible with my current os. What else should I consider or try doing to get FireFox to work?

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor (which you do NOT have; yours is a PPC Mac) and OSX 10.5 or higher.
The good news is that Firefox 3.6.24 still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. The bad news is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

I have the same problem, I believe that if Mozilla will fix their system requirements to READ INTEL Processor REQUIRED and NOT as given "Recommended" OS X 10.5 or later is REQUIRED! why isnt an INTEL Processor "REQUIRED" ? Your Firefox browser will not install on a PPC based Mac even with the proper OS. Please let everyone know the the processor is also a go-nogo issue as well. Thanks Bob
