About 50% or more of the time when I click on a link or go to a bookmark or website I get a fail message - Firefox cannot find the server - and have to "Try Again" or reload. This has only started since I got version 8 (I now have 8.0.1)

It does not happen in Chrome - so it does not seem to be my internet connection. But it happens in all versions of Firefox now.

It is getting irritating (5 weeks) to have to load every website twice. They always come up eventually - so it is not the particular websites.

It seems to have been that the Firefox exception in my Firewall settings was somehow eliminated. Why is it all so complicated? The trouble shooting opener for Firefox should list the first 30 things to check. The list should show up in the face of every newbie and non-tech out there. Anyway - things seem alright now.

I tried everything on the page

Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can

but there is no change.

And the other page is not relevant.

The problem is uniform and continues.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
