thanks for making this as painless as possible. Since i upgraded to 8.0, firefox has been locking up REGULARLY. I am wondering if there is a compatibility issue with Windows XP, and if so, what the latest version intended for use with XP is, and how to get it.

MizLiz, thanks for the suggestion. I took your advice and have not had the problem since. Sorry it took so long to reply. Hope the Mozilla developers read these posts once in a while; of course, they're not alone, I think IE is even worse.

I'm running Windows 7 and I have the same problem. There is a solution: Just look for Version 5.01 and stick with it. No more lockups, no more sloooooow bootups. Looks to me like the Mozilla guys just want to crank out new versions and use us as testers.
