Using beta FF 8.0, FF suggests to carry out the update. Doing so, nothing happens apart from closing and reloading all my pages and tabs. And there I'm suggested again to download the update. Curious...

Chosen solution

The last Firefox 8 beta was 8.0b6, so you missed out there as well.
Updating on the beta channel should have brought you to Firefox 9.0b1 (9.0b2 seems to be pending)

Firefox 8 beta? :O make sure that you are using Firefox 8 Final version which is in release channel?

Thanks for your reply. How could I have been aware of FF being in a final state? When I downloaded FF 8.0 beta, the installer file was called 8.0b4 and the final version is simply called 8.0. That I'm not informed about the fact that beta is old, and that I should start using the final version, is rather a disappointment for me, who was willing to test with the beta. Was the suggestion to carry out the update (see my former question) an invitation to get 8.0 Final? I tried the link, FF was shut down, and restarted OK. But before and after this 'update'(?) the information in the Help was still 8.0 without any further information. I'm going to install the final version explicitly and see what information I get. Some explanation by one of you, Helpers, though, can clear my (probably mistaken) thoughts :) TIA

Now I'm completely stupefied: Only just now I get the splash screen of Mozilla Labs Test Pilot, whereas I thought already being a tester since October 28th... Anyway, very confusing.

Even more confusing... I stop testing betas from now on. Sorry! Why? If there is a new beta at hand, the system simply doesn't inform me about new beta releases. That's why I still 'was testing' FF8.0, but never got any hint to get the newest beta release.
