why is http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ site not trusted comes up with warning"expired"
Chosen solution
Yes, that certificate is expired and you get an error if you use the https: version.
If you use the http: version (http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/) then you should be OK.
Are you using an extension that tries to force a secure https connection?

yes the (http:// projects.gnome.org/gconf/) got me there but dont know where to find answer to Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1: Failed to get connection to session: dbus-launch failed to autolaunch D-Bus session: EOF in dbus-launch reading address from bus daemon
Make sure that you meet the system requirements.
