Yes, that certificate is expired and you get an error if you use the https: version.

If you use the http: version (http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/) then you should be OK.

yes the (http:// projects.gnome.org/gconf/) got me there but dont know where to find answer to Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash.
