Its as simple as that. I am able to go to other pages of the site without it happening, but when i go the home page it happens again and again. But not with Safari or Chrome. I can send a picture file of the result if you would like. Quite annoying and appeared for no good reason (i.e. new pluggin, extension or whatever). Want to keep using Firefox but the Guardian is my daily newspaper. Thanks for helping.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
