FireFox 5 Claims it is already running on Open -Win7

Setting up a new DELL Win7 Prof. System. Downloaded latest 5.x. Ran fine once. Now upon clicking the Firefox Icon get the following window message:

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."

- No firefox labeled process shows in task manager. - Re-start same message. - Uninstall/ reinstall same message. No Joy.........
