Two MacBook Pro computers in home, my husband set his homepage to Fox News, and when he browzes all his sites look very different from mine. His mostly use a serif font and boxes and text lines overlap and wrap strangely. Is it a Firefox setting?

I don't know how to better describe this. My screens are neat and orderly with buttons in the right places. His are not orderly, text is enlarged, buttons overlap, text lines "run over" other text lines. We are retired. He is a relatively new Mac user and I don't have enough knowledge to help. He is getting frustrated with the "wonky" screens.

You can also do a check for corrupted fonts and other font issues:

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Thank you! The problem was in the Preferences/Content/Fonts & Colors/Advanced settings! We had checked everything the first respondent listed and it all checked out. However, going one level deeper into the Advanced choices is where the problem was. Thank you so very much for your help! Hubby was ready to move to Safari and so upset to leave all his bookmarks behind. Now he can stay with Firefox!
