I definitely will not upgrade to firefox 5 until the google toolbar thing is fixed.
Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.
The Google Toolbar 7.1.20110512W version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.

Google Labs has been working on a GTB 8 version, but it looks like it isn't made for Firefox - just for Internet Explorer.

So, maybe Google isn't going to be supporting Firefox any longer. That might be a move to force Google Toolbar users over to Google Chrome, which I believe has all those features built-in.
the-edmeister-My messages are sent to Firefox and not just one person. STOP sending messages to upgrade and i will stop my messages.
Me too "edmeister". I "downgraded" to Firefox 4.0.1 so that I could get my Google toolbar with the INSTANT translator back among other things. STOP SENDING THE MESSAGES/NOTIFICATIONS TO UPGRADE TO FIREFOX 5.0!!!!!! Had it, don't like it, don't want it. NUF SAID? Maybe if you folks can "play nice" with Google to allow their toolbar with all it's BETTER functions I may consider downloading Firefox 5.0.

Have a look at Google help forum, a poster "MaliousTm" has the answer. i used it and now have Firefox 5 with Google toolbar.
Lets address your issue with your Original Question. Were you able to Configure Firefox Update options using the link that i provided in my previous post ???
'I don`t need to do that, have a look at " Google help forum, a poster "MaliousTm" has the answer. i used it and now have Firefox 5 with Google toolbar."
Oh sure and make people do some Googling to find that post instead of just linking to it yourself. It is nothing new to change the maxversion in the extension instal.rdf file. It is Not a fix however but a way to override the install check for a extension that does not fully support Firefox 5.0 anyways. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/sites/thread?tid=04e8354f6e85d827&hl=en&start=40

Just in case people missed it or still think it is the fault of Mozilla for Google toolbar being disabled, when Google has dropped support for Firefox as of 5.0 with their toolbar extension.
