Why does Firefox open with tabs from a year ago instead of the ones that it closed with? I have all the updates.

For the past three months, every time I (correctly) shut down the computer and restart it in the morning, Firefox opens with tabs from a year ago. The same ones, every time. If I use sleep and wake it up...no problem. I am running Windows 7 Also, lately, Firefox just restarts occasionally, for no apparent reason, always when unattended for an hour or so. I really prefer Firefox to the Windows alternative and want to keep it. Thanks

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and all open tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
