I have recently upgraded to Firefox 5.0. I am now unable to use full screen mode when watching you tube. i've never had this problem before.

i can't think of anything else to add. i've always been able to use full screen mode in firefox, it still works on vimeo and it still works on NEtflix..

What happens when you try to use full screen mode -- button is ineffective, video doesn't display, etc.?

By the way, Adobe has issued a couple of security updates recently, so you might want to update your Flash plugin.

the issue is solved -- I updated Flash per your advice and now I am able to use the full screen mode (which was opening, but only black with sound on). Thanks for your help jscher2000.
