why is my computer freezing up & I keep getting the hour glass picture ?

My computer keeps freezing up & I keep getting the hour glass picture. There doesn't seem to be anyway to unlock this & I just have to wait till the connecting circle (upper left hand corner) completes. Sometimes this takes up to 10 minutes

I Have this same Problem and I have let it go for about 45 mins and it still did not load up I wish I had some answers It only seems to do it on one of my Recipe sites I can't even email them to tell them about it
