how do I stop firefix from opening in the last used page instead of my home page

When I visit a site and close down to my desktop. I reopen to my home page and it opens in the previous site I was visiting instead of my homepage.

If you do not use Firefox/Tools > Options > General > "Show my windows and tabs from last time" then make sure that Firefox closes properly to prevent session restore from reopening a possibly crashed session.
