stuck on private browsing, cant exit

i set my browser for private browsing, and now when i go back to stop private browsing ,it wont do anything, i have even tried ctrl-shift-P ,and still nothing ,can you please help me with this issue,

I fixed mine by going to Tools; Options; Privacy; History; Firefox will... Remember History.

I had tried setting it to Never Remember History and that seems to have caused the Private Mode to stick.
