My Firefox takes ages to load, and also refuses to open pictures on some sites like Flickr and stores like Marks & Spencers, Why?

Have you tried running Firefox in Safe Mode and seeing if you run into the same issues?

Running with safe mode: Click Firefox button --> Help --> Restart with Add-ons Disabled

If you find things running faster, then it likely has something to do with one of your add-ons or plugins. Also, you may want to try creating a new profile, so you can start fresh without all the bulk of add-ons and such that often slow down Firefox.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

See:

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.
