Where are the links tabs in the toolbar?
Cannot place fave links in toolbar like before.
Chosen solution
Check that you still have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar
If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear
Make sure that all the toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
- Check in "View > Toolbars > Customize" that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize window onto the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button

Your Bookmarks Toolbar may be hidden. To display it, use
View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar
Or if you right-click on a blank area of the menu bar, you should be able to turn it on from there.
Any luck?
All that happens when I select the Bookmarks toolbar hiding and unhiding the bookmarks. I want my favorite bookmarks showing as links in the toolbar above the page tabs.
If the favorite bookmarks were not on the Bookmarks Toolbar, perhaps they were on an add-on's toolbar? If you check View > Toolbars, is there anything not currently displayed that might be the right toolbar?
If not, perhaps the add-on is disabled for some reason. Check
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions
and see whether anything is disabled that seems relevant.

Or.. maybe I completely misunderstood. Are you saying that when you type in the location bar/address box/Awesomebar, that you don't get matches to your favorites?

Hi hthompson1,
Very confusing:
Are you talking about bookmarks searches that looked like folders:
Most Visited Recently Visited
There was talk of removing some things from bookmarks because they weren't in other browsers and hard to maintain, but I think they were referring to tags which are unique in Firefox and certainly nowhere near as useful as keyword, Keyword is in other browsers and right in the bookmark basic bookmark record so it should be safe. I only mention this because the documentation reference to "smart folders" is marked with a pink banner.
You can restore "Most visited" by creating a bookmark with these properties:
Name: Most visited Location: place:redirectsMode=2&sort=8&maxResults=10
Here are some links that may be of interest:
