I got a funny thing that claimed to find viruses on my system then wanted to download and install a security screen. I have Avast Pro and that showed no threat. Is the thing I got fake?

The only other thing I can describe is the screen shot claiming that my system was infected. I don't believe it and the file it wanted me to permit was not a mozilla address and not a .com or .net.

Thank you. I'll give some a try. Only thing, they all are like one another -- pay us, we're the best...we're FREE but you get "more" when you buy PRO..... Borderline scam again. I've added a screen shot of the fake scan

Was looking for 3-view drawings of tug boats, to make a model for my HO scale railroad, when I got an alert that my system (firefox in particular) was infected. Ran my security software which found no problems. Kept getting popups that wanted to run security scans. I allowed the pop up to run once and none of the files that the scan indicated were infected are on my system. This is a bogus Security program that only wants your money ($80.00) to be downloaded. Watch out for this scam as it looks a lot like the "Windows Defender" that comes with Windows 7.
