When I log in, it goes to my homepage for a moment and then immediately goes to a site called "5gigs.net." I then cannot get back to my homepage. This just started happening this morning (5/31). Please let me know how I can stop this from happening. Thanks

Sounds like a browser hijacker. To revert to Google as your preferred search engine, please do the following.
- In the location bar, type about:config and hit Enter.
- In the filter at the top, type: keyword.URL
- Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
To reset your home page, do the following.
- Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.
- Click the orange Firefox button and go to Options | Options | General.
- Make sure it says "Show My Homepage" in the first dropdown menu.
- Click the button called "Use Current Pages" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.
Hi, I tried your instructions but with no luck. My homepage is still being hijacked. Any other thoughts on this? It's really anoying that I can't get to my homepage. Thanks
Can you open about:config again and in the filter at the top, type 5gigs
For every instance you find with that name, right click it and choose Reset from the menu.
When you've finished those, type: searchdiscovered in the filter at the top (remove 5gigs first) and then do the same thing.
Then close Firefox and restart it again.
Do you have iGoogle? If so, delete the My Scores gadget.
