how do I decrease the page size not the text size?
I want to be able to view more of my background image, but in order to do that I need to shrink the startup page size a bit but I can't remember how to do so.

Double click the title bar to remove the "Maximum" setting (if its enabled) and then grab the bottom, right hand corner of Firefox with the left mouse button and resize it to your liking.
Next, hold down CTRL while you click the Close button (the "X"). Firefox will retain that size when you next reopen it.
Usually, when you use Zoom, both the text and images increase proportionally. You can change Zoom so it only zooms the text. This can lead to distorted layouts, but leaves the images at their original size and resolution.
If you have the orange Firefox button, tap the Alt key or press F10 to display the classic menu bar temporarily.
View > Zoom > Zoom Text Only
Does that do what you wanted?
Add extra empty toolbars if you want to see more of the persona.
You can create extra toolbars to get extra space via View > Toolbars > Customize
You have to put something on a toolbar (drag a Space item onto it) before closing the Customize window because empty toolbars are automatically removed.
