When I open a new tab to my home screen and enter a letter to get the drop down of recent addresses a new option of "Switch To Tab" is at the top. Some times more than one!

Ugh! Why the blazes do I want it there to weed through when I could have just duplicated the darned tab that is already running!

Can we get an option to disable this? I delete it but it returns.

Fire or make the the writer of this option by lunch and get rid of the redundant bunk!

you can get around this without an add-on. when typing in the address bar and the url you want is at the top of the suggestion list as "switch to tab", press down to highlight it then press space and then enter. it gets treated as a different url preventing the switch to tab feature, but the space gets automatically trimmed, thus opening the url you want in the tab you want.
