Someone tried to hijack my computer while I was using Firefox
We were reviewing a website pertaining to orange-peel edema which is associated with pregnancy. During the process of overviewing this site a fake anti-virus program tried to run, or was asking us to continue so it could scan our computer. Norton 360 seemed to have stopped it but, I found it a little discouraging to keep using Mozilla after this happened. I have used Mozilla for years and prefer it over all other web browsers but, I would rather look into other browsers if this persist to keep happening. Norton even indicated the site to be safe prior to opening this web page. The last time I had this to happen I wasn't as educated on these kind of attacks and lost everything.

Unfortunately, many legitimate sites have become infected with "fake antivirus" malware. It's very hard for link scanners to keep up.
As your case illustrates, it is important to have up-to-date antivirus software and a certain degree of skepticism to avoid installing them.
It's hard to know whether any other browser would have done better under the circumstances. You know how to test that, but I doubt you want to!
