Firefox - Win 7 SLOW as molasses
I am typing this on my Win XP, very little RAM laptop connected to my home DSL. At first I thought it was the crap DSL service I have but now I realize it is...Firefox and WIN7- 64bit. (AMD Phenom Quad - 1T-HDD- 8 gig RAM) I have always done all upgrades to FF and WIN and I have to say I have tried all applicable "fixes" in the troubleshooting area. It starts slow - shows long periods of HDD activity at startup and will freeze my PC whenever I try anything - from closing it to choosing another tab. Reading the posted problems...might there be an issue with WIN7 64-bit compatibility going on here?? Seems like it....
Don't make me go to another browser... I WANT to use FF but it is horrific as it is now, on my much faster computer. It is faster here on my WinXPPro-2.8ghz Core 2 DUo-150G-HDD-3 Gig RAM laptop. Something is wrong...

I found this answer to slow loading of web pages in FF7 on a forum somewhere. If you have Speedbit Video Accelerator on your system it seems to be messing with the new version of Firefox. I deleted it from my system and voila! almost instant loading of pages again. Hope this works for others out there.
Thanks for the tip Fishfryer. FF7 was really slow loading web pages for me too and I had Speedbit Video Accelerator installed. I uninstalled it and now FF7 is running smooth again. SVA worked great on previous versions of FF but it almost halted FF7 at times.
