Small windows opened by websites have moved from upper-left to lower-right on one pc

The authorized small windows that sometimes pop up when I click on a link in, say, a bank website, always used to appear in the upper left had corner of the screen. But as of the last month or so they have started appearing lower-right instead. (I'm not sure whether this was concurrent with with update from FF 3.6.15 to 3.6.16 or not).

I can move an individual window manually back to upper left, but I would like to them to resume opening there by default, as they still do correctly on my other FF 3.6.16 pc.

I have tried all kinds of dragging, window resizing, etc, but that has no effect on where they open the next time. All the authorized click-generated small windows are still opening lower-right instead of upper-left as they always used do (and still do on my other FF 3.6.16 pc).

THANK YOU! That solved it quickly. As usual you have been SO helpful!

BTW, do you think it might be possible that the "compact Firefox databases" function added to CCleaner could cause this or other kinds of corruption? I've only used it a few times, and in retrospect that last use may have been about the time the problem started.

You should be careful with compacting sqlite database files. Firefox 4 sets the size of places.sqlite in 10 MB (!) chunks to prevent performance issues caused by severe file fragmentation, so compacting is no longer recommended for that version and will cause Firefox to expand sqlite files immediately.
