When I open firefox, I get a message stating "you are about to be logged off" & "virus detected" IE works fine, & avg & malware bytes find nothing.
My husband's laptop is the one that I'm talking about. It's running Windows 7, and firefox is his default browser. I've searched the forum and googled this & come up with nothing. He hasn't downloaded or installed any new programs, and was on it earlier today without a problem. I can open IE without a problem, but not firefox. Thanks for any advice you can give me......

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

If using the above listed scanners do not fix it then ask advice on one of the forums that specialize in malware removal mentioned in the Popups_not_blocked article.
